GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors: April 25, 2011

Kacey Abbriano (Norwich), Grace Fitzpatrick (Norwich) and Kellie Pickel (Norwich) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

                      

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kacey Abbriano, Norwich, Jr., Hicksville, NY

Norwich’s junior attacker, Kacey Abbriano, led the Cadets to a 2-0 week with a standout performance against St. Joseph’s Maine by netting four goals and putting up six assists for a career-best 10 points. She clinched another four goals earlier in the week to help put Norwich over Simmons, leading the Cadets to a top place GNAC playoff standing.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Grace Fitzpatrick, Norwich, Fr., Falmouth, ME

Norwich’s rookie midfielder, Grace Fitzpatrick, netted ten goals in the Cadets 2-0 week to help Norwich clinch the first-place seed in the conference. In the conference victory over St. Joseph’s Maine, Fitzpatrick netted four goals and one assist, while picking up five ground balls. Earlier in the week, she led the Cadets past Simmons with a six-goal performance, going 17-of-23 for face-offs and picking up ten ground balls.

 

GOALIE OF THE WEEK

Kellie Pickel, Norwich, Sr., Montpelier, VT

Norwich’s senior goaltender, Kellie Pickel, had an incredible 2-0 week in net to help the Cadets clinch the top-seed in the conference. She made a total of18 saves, and only let in nine over the course of the week for an impressive 0.67 save percentage. Pickel made 12 saves in her 47 minutes of net time against St. Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday.
