GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors: April 18, 2011

Tina Canavan (Lasell), Kristin Coderre (Lasell) and Chelsea Phillips (Emerson) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.




Tina Canavan, Lasell, Sr., Stonington, CT

Lasell’s senior attacker, Tina Canavan, was an integral reason for the Lasers going 2-0 this week in GNAC play and remaining on a seven game winning streak. She scored five points against Emerson and then six points against Rivier College. Canavan averaged 5.5 points per game and added eight total draw controls. The senior proved her experience when she came through in critical situations this week when she scored the game winning goal against Emerson and assisted on the game winner against Rivier.



Chelsea Phillips, Emerson, Fr., Waterford, CT

Emerson’s rookie defender, Chelsea Phillips led the Lions in both goals and total points in two GNAC games. She scored five goals against St. Joseph’s and four goals against GNAC foe Lasell, while accomplishing an 84% shot on goal percentage for the week. Additionally, she had three draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.  




Kristin Coderre, Lasell, Sr., Monson, MA

Lasell’s senior goalkeeper, Kristin Coderre, had yet another undefeated week in GNAC play, collecting nine saves against Emerson and adding 14 stops against Rivier. She is on a seven game winning streak, six of which games were in GNAC play, and has had just one loss in the past 10 games. Coderre has earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the week honors five times this season alone.
