Suffolk's Taylor Miranda Named to NSCAA All-New England
Freshman Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) earned All-New England honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2010 season. Miranda, a third-team regional selection was the lone representative from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Miranda finished the season with 46 points, scoring 21 goals and adding four assists in 17 games for the Rams. Her 21 goals on the year set a new program record, while her 17 goals in conference play are a new GNAC record. For her efforts Miranda was named the GNAC’s Offensive Player of the Year, and was also a first-team All-Conference selection this past season.
Miranda was one of the top offensive performers in the nation as her 21 goals ranked 19th among all NCAA Division-III women’s soccer players. Her 1.24 goals per game average was 8th best in the nation, while her 2.71 points per game average was number 11. Miranda also ranked 26th among all scorers in the country with her 46 total points. The freshman forward was the leader in most offensive categories within the GNAC as she led the league in points, points per game, goals and goals per game. Her four game winning goals ranked second in the league.
Miranda scored goals in bunches as she recorded hat tricks on two occasions, (Sept 22 versus St. Joseph’s College of Maine, and October 16 versus Pine Manor College). In eight of the 17 games she played in this season, Miranda scored at least two goals and had a scoring streak of seven games at one point in the season. She was named GNAC Rookie of the Week on two occasions (Sept. 20 and Sept. 27)
Miranda becomes the first Suffolk Women’s Soccer player to earn All-New England honors in the program’s four year varsity history. Miranda and the Rams claimed their first ever postseason berth in 2010 as they claimed the GNAC’s best record in regular season play with a 10-2 mark claiming the top seed in the GNAC Tournament. The Rams earned their first berth into the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Women’s Soccer Tournament as they finished 2010 with an overall record of 13-4-1.
Of the forty players recognized on this year’s All-New England teams, Miranda was the lone freshman to earn accolades.
