GNAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors: February 14, 2011

Curtis Abram (Emmanuel), Jared Andreozzi (Rivier) and Aaron Almario (Rivier) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Volleyball Weekly Honors.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jared Andreozzi, Rivier, Sr ., Barrington, RI

Rivier’s Jared Andreozzi had an unbelievable weekend as the Raiders went 3-1, including a decisive 3-0 win over #4 Nazareth College. In the victory, Andreozzi hit .542 with 14 kills and had just 1 error. He also added 28 kills against Thiel and 20 against Medaille.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Curtis Abram, Emmanuel, Sr., San Luis Obispo, CA

Emmanuel’s Curtis Abram became the Emmanuel program's all-time kills leader with his 54 kills this week  and currently has1,343. The senior hit .306, averaging 3.37 kills, 1.25 digs, 1.0 ace and 0.9 blocks per set and was named to the Endicott Invitational All-Tournament Team. Abram also led Emmanuel to a 3-0 win over 7th ranked MIT this week. This marks the second time this season that Abram has been named GNAC Player of the Week.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Aaron Almario, Rivier, Fr.,  Alhambra, CA

Rivier’s freshman middle hitter, Aaron Almario, averaged a team high 1.76 blocks per set this week, including 9 against #4 Nazareth College in a 3-0 win. He also hit over.500 twice this week against Nazareth and Santa Cruz.
