GNAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors: Sept. 27th

Mike Giles (Emerson), Jacob Lawrence (Emerson), and Carlos Perez (Emmanuel) have all earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors.

Emerson’s Mike Giles scored two goals against Albertus Magnus College on Saturday to help end the Falcon's seven game unbeaten streak and also gave AMC its first GNAC loss of the year. The senior took four shots during the week and scored on two of them. Giles also earned an assist on Emerson's second goal with a crossing pass to a header.

Emerson’s Jacob Lawrence has be awarded rookie of the week for the second week in a row. Lawrence has scored at least a point per game in every collegiate game thus far. He managed to earn an assist against Lesley University and two more in the Lions’ win over previously undefeated Albertus Magnus. Against the Falcons, the rookie assisted the game-winner with a cross pass to a header goal and also played the rebound to earn an assist for Emerson’s final goal to make the ending score 4-0.

Emmanuel’s Carlos Perez appeared in goal this week against GNAC matchup St. Joe’s Maine. The senior made nine saves while leading the Saints to a 0-0 tie against the Monks. Perez helped the Saints remain unbeaten in the GNAC.
