GNAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors: April 12, 2011

David Deschenes (Becker), Eric Walsh (Lasell) and Nick Yacuzzi (Mount Ida) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nick Yacuzzi, Mount Ida, So., Worcester, MA

Mount Ida’ sophomore attacker, Nick Yacuzzi, notched six goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Mustangs in conference play. Yacuzzi totaled a remarkable eight points in two contests.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

David Deschenes, Becker, Fr., Gales Ferry, CT

Becker’s rookie attacker, David Deschenes, had an outstanding week for the Hawks, scoring 10 goals and handing out 5 assists in three games. Deschenes totaled an astonishing 15 points on the week.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Eric Walsh, Lasell, Sr., Weymouth, MA

Lasell’s senior,  Eric Walsh, had a near shutout against Norwich on Saturday, saving 80% of the shots on goal in GNAC play. He tallied four stops while keeping Lasell undefeated in conference play at 3-0 and leading the Lasers to a top place spot in the conference. This marks the second time this season that Walsh has earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
