GNAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: January 24th

Theo Robinson (Emmanuel) and Lamonte Thomas (JWU) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lamonte Thomas, Johnson & Wales, Jr., Providence, RI

Games: 3 Points: 97 Rebounds: 21 Assists: 12

JWU’s Lamonte Thomas continued his hot streak this week as the Nation’s leading scorer according to NCAA. Thomas scored 26 points with eight rebounds in the conference win over Emerson and 35 points in the OT game against UMass Dartmouth last week. The junior capped off the week with a 36 point performance in another conference victory over Emmanuel on Saturday. This marks the second time this season Thomas has been awarded as GNAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Games: 3 Points: 39 Rebounds: 29 Assists: 2

Emmanuel’s Theo Robinson averaged nearly a double-double (13.0 ppg and 9.7 rpg) in the Saints' three games this week, leading the Saints in both categories. The rookie also set the Emmanuel single-game record for rebounds, as he grabbed 19 boards against conference foe Lasell.
