GNAC Baseball Weekly Honors: May 2, 2011

Chris Campbell (St. Joseph’s) and Chad Rafferty (St. Joseph’s) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Baseball Weekly Honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chris Campbell, Saint Joseph's (ME), Sr., Rochester, NH

The Monks’ senior infielder, Chris Campbell hit a scorching .636 (14-22) with seven runs, three RBI and his first collegiate home run in five wins for the Monks last week. Campbell collected GNAC All-Tournament honors after hitting an unbelievable .786 (11-14) as the Monks' lead-off hitter in three playoff games. He was 5-5 with two runs and a solo home run in a playoff win over Lasell on Thursday and went 4-5 with a run and two RBI in the GNAC Championship victory on Sunday.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Chad Rafferty, St. Joseph’s (ME), So., Keene, NH

Monks’ sophomore pitcher, Chad Rafferty tossed a complete-game shutout with a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 4-0 GNAC Semifinal win over Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
