GNAC Baseball Weekly Honors: April 12, 2011

Eric Howard (Lasell), Mike Pratt (St. Joe’s Maine) and Zak Sokolis (Albertus) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Baseball Weekly Honors.

 

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mike Pratt, St. Joe’s Maine, So., Dartmouth, MA

Monks’ sophomore, Mike Pratt, enjoyed a tremendous week for the Monks, hitting .526 (10-19) with an .895 slugging percentage and 10 RBI in seven contests. On the week, Pratt had ten hits, with seven of them being doubles during the 5-2 SJC week. Additionally, he went 6-7 with two runs, four doubles and four RBI in a sweep over Rivier College on Saturday. This marks the second consecutive week that Pratt has earned GNAC Player of the Week.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Zak Sokolis, Albertus Magnus, Fr., Meriden, CT

Albertus’ rookie, Zak Sokolis, continues to be a force in the Falcons lineup leading the team in hitting at .476 this week while slugging .667 with an impressive .522 OBP while being perfect in the field.

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Eric Howard, Lasell, Fr., Newton, MA

Lasell’s rookie pitcher, Eric Howard, threw a shutout against Norwich with an incredible 12 strikeouts. Howard allowed just three hits and one walk in the GNAC contest, while limiting the Cadets to only a .130 batting average in the contest. The rookie’s 12 strikeouts is a new Lasell College single-game record for strikeouts in a game.
