GNAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors: Sept 6th

Nick Campasano (St. Joe’s ME), James Clancy (Lasell), and Jake LeClaire (Norwich) have all earned GNAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors.

Norwich’s Jake Leclaire scored four goals this past week. Leclaire tallied two goals and an assist in the season opener against Southern Vermont College, including a winning goal in the tenth minute of overtime play. The sophomore forward posted another two goal, one assist game against Roger Williams and remarkably netted yet another overtime goal to take home the victory. Leclaire led the Cadets to a 2-1-0 opening week.

Lasell’s James Clancy was the strength for Lasell in the backfield, making incredible plays to hold down the Lasers defense against both New York University Polytechnic Institute and Farmingdale State College.  The rookie defenseman helped the Lasers finish the weekend with a 1-1 record and was named to the All-Tournament team for his tremendous showing.

St. Joe’s Nick Campasano turned away five shots and registered a shutout victory against Fitchburg State in his first NCAA start 9/4. He allowed only one goal that was off of a defender deflection and made three saves against Kean University 9/5.
