Natalie West
Director of Conference Communications

JWU’s Lamonte Thomas was honored as co-player of the week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference for his spectacular performance last week and continuing his streak as the Nation’s leading scorer. The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) is the nation’s largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions and over 122,000 student-athletes ranging from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

The junior guard scored 26 points with eight rebounds in the conference win over Emerson and 35 points in the OT game against UMass Dartmouth last week. Thomas capped off the week with a 36 point performance in another conference victory over Emmanuel on Saturday. With help from Lamonte Thomas, Johnson & Wales is currently ranked 2nd in the GNAC with a record of 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the conference. In addition to this ECAC honor, Thomas has been named GNAC player of the week for two weeks this season.
