Lasell's Javon Williams Chosen for ECAC DIII New England & GNAC Weekly Honors
NEWTON, MA- Javon Williams (Mattapan, MA) has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball Player of the Week and ECAC Division III New England co-Player of the Week. Williams was selected in a week that he hit the 1,000 point career milestone and averaged 22.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.

NEWTON, MA- Javon Williams (Mattapan, MA) has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball Player of the Week and ECAC Division III New England co-Player of the Week. Williams was selected in a week that he hit the 1,000 point career milestone and averaged 22.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
Williams began the week with a 17 point, five assists, four
rebound, and three steal performance at Mount Ida College, hitting
and eclipsing the 1,000 point milestone easily in the first period
of play. The junior forward then dropped a game high 29
points and 12 rebounds against Albertus Magnus College, shooting
11-12 from the line and 9-18 from the field. He finished the
week with 21 points and seven rebounds against Emmanuel College,
shooting 13-14 from the stripe. Throughout the week, Williams
compiled 67 points, 23 boards, 11 assists, and six steals, while
shooting 53% from the floor and 87% from the free throw line.
Williams is Lasell’s leading scorer and rebounder this
season, averaging 21.1 points and 7.1 boards per game. He is ranked
24th nationally amongst all NCAA Division III
men’s basketball players in points per game and
27th nationally in steals per game, averaging 2.7 per
contest. In the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC),
Williams is ranked 1st in steals, 3rd in
points, 4th in field goal percentage (52.8%), and
5th in rebounding and blocked shots (1.3 per
game).
This is Williams’ first honor of the season by the GNAC
and the ECAC. In week four of the season (Dec. 15), he was
recognized nationally by D3Hoops.com as a member of the Team of the
Week.
