GNAC Lacrosse Weekly Honors: March 29

Lauren Hagerman (St. Joseph’s (ME)), Ashley Slattery (Lasell) and Lindsay Cahoon (Lasell) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lauren Hagerman, St. Joseph’s (ME), Sr., Scarborough, M.E.

Weekly Totals

Games (3), Goals (15), Assists (6), Points (21)

Hagerman tallied 15 goals, 6 assists, 11 groundballs, 14 draw controls, and caused 6 turnovers in a 2-0-1 week for the Monks.  The senior midfielder scored 8 goals, including the 100th goal of her career, in a 22-14 win over Becker College on March 28.  The Monks tied Husson in overtime, 15-15, on March 24, and defeated Mount Ida, 18-3, on March 26.  Hagerman leads the Monks in points (37), assists (13), draw controls (23), game-winning goals (2), man-up goals (3), shorthanded goals (1), faceoff percentage (.400), and caused turnovers (8).  Hagerman was also named ECAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for her accomplishments last week.  The Monks are currently in a 2-way tie for 2nd place in the GNAC, with a conference record of 2-0 and an overall record of 5-0-1.  St. Joseph’s (ME) next plays Norwich on April 2.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Slattery averaged 4 points per game in a 3-0 week for the Lasers.  Slattery also averaged 3.66 ground balls, 4.66 draw controls, and added 2 caused turnovers for the week.  The Lasers defeated Pine Manor, 19-4, on March 23, Simmons, 20-12, on March 25, and Rivier, 21-8, on March 27.  This is the second week in a row that Slattery has been named GNAC Rookie of the Week.  The Lasers are currently in 1st place in the GNAC, with a conference record of 3-0 and an overall record of 6-3.  Lasell next plays Emerson on March 31 and Framingham State on April 6.

Rookie goalkeeper Cahoon was 2-0 between the pipes for the Lasers last week, recording wins against Pine Manor, 19-4, on March 23, and Rivier, 21-8, on March 27.  Cahoon made 17 total saves and also picked up 5 groundballs in 3 games.  The Lasers also defeated Simmons, 20-12, on March 25.  Lasell is currently in 1st place in the GNAC, with a conference record of 3-0 and an overall record of 6-3.  The Lasers next play Emerson on March 31 and Framingham State on April 6.
