GNAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors: April 5

Lauren Brett (Rivier), Kelly Last (Simmons) and Meghan Ross (Emerson) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

Junior Meghan Ross was the leading contributor in two GNAC wins for Emerson this week. Ross had stunning game winning goals in both contests. She tied the team lead in ground balls (9), draw controls (13) and caused turnovers (7). Ross had magnificent accuracy as well; 15 of 16 shots taken were on net (.938) and 11 of 15 shots on net scored (.733). Additionally, Ross won 27 of 43 face-offs (.638). Currently, she leads the Lions with a game high total of eight goals against GNAC foe Lasell College.

Rookie Lauren Brett lead the Raiders in their first ever victory in their first year as a varsity program. The rookie was a scoring machine; she totaled 5 goals in the win against conference opponent St. Joseph’s (CT), tallied another 5 goals against Simmons College and 3 goals against Husson University. She averaged 5.66 points per game this week and scored on 65% of her shots.

Freshman goalie Kelly Last had a spectacular week for the Simmons Sharks. The rookie goalie who just began playing lacrosse in January, assisted Simmons to a 2-0 week with victories over Rivier and Daniel Webster. Last connected on 98% of her clears and had 21 saves (58.3% save average) with three interceptions in both games this week.
