GNAC Baseball Weekly Honors: March 15

Geoff Lopes (Emerson), Mike Pratt (St. Joseph's (ME)), and Zach Levine (Emerson) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Baseball Weekly Honors.

Lopes led Emerson's most successful spring trip in program history by batting .400 with runners in scoring position, and was 3-3 with runners on third with less than 2 outs. Lopes caught all 6 games and made only 1 error in 38 chances. The Lions are 4-2 after completing spring training in Florida last week. Emerson travels to New York this weekend to face St. Joseph's College on March 20 and Lehman College on March 21.

Pratt hit .333 (7-21) with 8 RBI's over his first seven collegiate contests during the Monks' spring trip to Winter Haven last week. The rookie third baseman was 5-6 with a double, an RBI, and 3 runs scored in an opening-day doubleheader against Clark on March 7, and belted his first career homerun against WPI on March 8. Pratt also drove home 4 runs in a loss to Wentworth on March 11. St. Joseph's (ME) is currently 3-4 and will face New Jersey City University for a two-game set on March 20, and will play a doubleheader against St. Joseph's (NY) on March 21.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Zach Levine, Emerson, So., Beverly, Mass.

Levine picked up half the teams wins during Emerson's most successful spring trip in the programs history. He got a two inning win in relief in a 5-3 extra innings victory over Penn State Altoona and pitched a complete game, earning a 5-1 win over Newbury College. Levine has allowed no earned runs from the mound this season. The Lions are 4-2 after completing spring training in Florida last week. Emerson travels to New York this weekend to face St. Joseph's College on March 20 and Lehman College on March 21.
