MEN'S BASKETBALL

Co-Players of the Week

Jeremy Shannon     Emerson     Jr     Lowell, MA

Shot 71% from the field making 17 of 24 shots including 2-3 three-pointers. Had 27 defensive rebounds and five steals while playing all 80 minutes in the two regulation games. (Points 50     Rebounds 28     Assists 13)

Jose Guitian     Lasell     Sr     Miami, Fl

Guitian finished the regular season with another incredible week for Lasell, averaging 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game in two GNAC competitions.  Guitian dominated with 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks against Emerson, then added 16 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and a block at St. Joe's Me. (Points 42     Rebounds 28     Assists 4)

Rookie of the Week

Javon Williams     Lasell     Fr     Mattapan, MA
Williams had a spectacular week for the Lasers, averaging 13.5 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks per GNAC contest.  He recorded a double-double against Emerson with 17 points and 11 boards, also blocking 3 shots, then put in 10 points and picked up five boards against St. Joe's (Me.).  Williams shot 52.3% from the field and 100% from the free throw line. (Points 27     Rebounds 16  Assists 1)

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Co-Players of the Week

Cherie Parisi     Mount Ida     Jr     South Attleboro, MA

Junior forward Cherie Parisi (South Attleboro, MA/Attleboro) netted her 1,000th point as a Mustang in their final game of the season against Suffolk University.  She is the third player in Mount Ida College women's basketball history to accomplish this feat. (Points 34     Rebounds 23     Assists 10)

Jess Mellen     Rivier     Jr     Rockland, MA
 
In a 2-win week for the Raiders, Mellen filled up the stat sheet. She averaged 15 points, 13.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 6.5 steals per game. She had 2 double-doubles on the week. Mellen shot 50% from the field (12-24). (Points 30     Rebounds 27     Assists 11)

Rookie of the Week

Lauren Zaniboni     Emerson     So     San Diego, CA
Lauren shot 60% from the field and grabbed eight offensive and six defensive rebounds while adding two blocks in Emerson's only game of the week.  Emerson's 18 wins is the best single season total in the history of the program. (Points 16     Rebounds 14     Assists 1)

 

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

Co-Swimmers of the Week

Sarah Wheeler     Saint Joseph (CT)     So     Winchendon Springs, Mass.

Wheeler was a part of five school-records set at the New England Championships including the 200 free relay, 100-fly, 400 medley relay, 200 Medley relay, and 400 free relay, she took 7th in the 100 fly and 400 IM, winning her heat in both events.

Hannah Gajewski     Saint Joseph's (ME)     FR     Biddeford, ME

Gajewski advanced to the finals in three events at the New England Championships and set a new program record in the 200-IM with a 2:24.56 effort and her preliminary time of 1:06.81 in the 100-IM was a new team-best. The freshman also swam a leg for the 10th place 800-Free Relay team and helped the group post a new team record with a 8:41.72 time in the competition.

Rookie of the Week

Mary Provencher     Saint Joseph (CT)     Fr     West Hartford, Conn.
Provencher was named All- New England as she took fifth in the 100-IM with a school- freshman-record of 1:07.60. She was also a part of four relay school-records in the 200 free, 200 Medley, 400-free and 400 Medley relay.

 

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Player of the Week

Zach Hansen     Rivier College     Jr     Shelton, CT

Zach Hansen led the #5 Raiders to a great 3-1 victory over the #8 Newbury College Nighthawks.  Hansen directed the offense with 14.5 assists per game while picking up 13 digs and adding 2 aces in the victory, extending the Raiders win streak to 16 games. (Kills 2     Assists 70     Digs 13     Blocks 3)

Rookie of the Week

Trevor Foster     Lasell     Fr     Ashford, CT
Foster had a fantastic week at the net for Lasell, averaging 2.08 kills and 1.08 blocks per set.  Foster led the Lasers with 8 solo blocks against Emmanuel, adding 8  kills and 2 service aces. He also put down 8 kills against Daniel Webster, 6 kills against Mount Ida, and 5 kills against Endicott in a 3-1 week for Lasell. (Kills 27     Assists 0     Digs 2     Blocks 14)
