BASEBALL

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Eric Suraci     Albertus Magnus     West Haven, CT     Jr

Sucari went .538 (14-26) over nine games in a 7-2 week with 3 HR's (including a grandslam), 10 runs scored and 13 RBI last week. 6-0 GNAC week to secure 3rd place.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Mike Mahoney    Lasell     Rockland, Mass    Fr

Mike Mahoney earned a 14-10 win over Emerson this week while striking out two on the mound. He also played significant role overall in a win over Becker College.  He had seven hits, four runs, and two RBI's in the week.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Pat Moran     Saint Joseph's (Me.)     Winterport, ME     JR

Moran improved to 6-0 with a 5-2 victory over Suffolk on April 19th. The junior allowed five hits and one earned run with no walks and nine strikeouts in the complete game effort. Also hit .565 (13-23) and belted four home runs in a 7- 1 week for the Monks.

 

SOFTBALL

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Emily Leverone     Saint Joseph's (Me.)     Hampton, NH     SO

Leverone batted .682 (15-22) with a 1.273 slugging percentage in an 8-0 week for the Lady Monks. The first-year player scored 15 runs with 15 RBI and collected eight doubles, a triple and a home run during the reporting period. Leverone broke the SJC single-season records for doubles, home runs and hits over the weekend.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jackie Donahue     Norwich     Northfield, Vt.     Fr.

Donahue helped lead Norwich to a perfect 8-0 week. She blasted five home runs, knocked in 19 runs during the week, batted .640 and slugged nearly 1.500.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Kelsey Tuthill     Emerson     Middlefield, CT     Fr

Tuthill threw a no-hitter in Game 1 against St. Joseph on Sunday and held opponents to a .123 batting average (.037 with runners on base) while running her overall record to 15-3

MEN'S TENNIS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brant Buckley     Emerson     Chester Springs, PA     Sr.

Buckley stepped up to number 1 singles to replace injured Allesandro Bellino and defeated both his
opponents in leading Emerson to the GNAC regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming playoffs.  He also teamed with two different doubles partners to go a perfect 4-0 on the week.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Maeghan Ross     Emerson     Wrentham, MA     So

Emerson's leading scorer on the week scored 12 goals on only 19 shots (.632%) including the game winning score in the battle for first place with Norwich.  Ross dominated the Norwich game with nine of Emerson's 16 goals and assisted on two others.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Meredith Hessler     Lasell     Middletown, RI     Fr

Hessler had three goals and two assists en route to a 2-1 week for Lasell. She also picked up 10 draw controls and 8 groundballs

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Amanda Weaver     Simmons     Eaton, OH     Jr

Amanda had 18 saves in two games; 13 in a 12-10 loss to Anna Maria. She came up with four interceptions in these two games.
