BASEBALL

Player of Week

Michael Burdin     Saint Joseph's (Me.)     Gardiner, ME     JR

Burdin was a pivotal player for the Monks in a 5-0 week, hitting .650 (13-20) with four doubles, a triple, a home run, 13 runs and 11 RBI's to go with a 1.100 slugging percentage. The junior infielder became the second player in program history to hit for the cycle when he achieved the feat in the second game of a doubleheader with Rivier College on Saturday.

Rookie of Week

Mike Mahoney     Lasell     Rockland, Mass.    FR

Mahoney had an incredible week for the Lasers in five games, including a pair of wins on the mound over Daniel Webster and Norwich and also leading the Lasers with seven hits, six runs, four RBI's, and a home run in a 3-3 week for Lasell.

Pitcher of Week

Ryan Morgan     Johnson & Wales     Exeter, RI     SR

In the Wildcats win over Rivier, Morgan went six strong innings, allowing no runs on two hits with six strikeouts.

 

SOFTBALL

Player of Week

Jess Ferreira     Suffolk     Cambridge, MA     SR

Senior Jess Ferreira went 13 for 19 on the week, including notching her 200th career hit. Ferreira had three 3-hit performances on theweek, including going 3-3 with 3 RBI in Suffolk's Game 1 victory over Pine Manor Saturday.

Rookie of Week

Ashley Wheeler     Simmons     Nashua, N.H.     FR

Wheeler went 4-9 on the weekend; 0-2 vs Emerson and 4-7 vs Albertus. 9 RBIs on the weekend, 2 grand slams and 2 doubles vs Albertus.

Pitcher of Week

Madylan Kluna     Saint Joseph's (Me.)     Standish, ME     FR
 
Kluna was 2-0 with 14 K's in 15 innings for St. Joe's last week. The freshman earned the extra-inning victory over Rivier 4/4 with six strikeouts and five hits allowed in eight innings and tossed a shutout against JWU, fanning eight and allowing three hits in seven innings.

 

MEN'S TENNIS

Player of the Week

Michael Nourie     Emerson     Philadelphia, PA     SO

Nourie was one point from perfection as he defeated his opponent at #3 singles 6-0, 6-1 and teamed to win his doubles match 8-0.

Rookie of Week

Brandt Buckley     Emerson     Chester Springs, PA     SR
In Emerson's only match of the week, Buckley defeated his #1 singles opponent form Newbury College 6-0, 6-0, and teamed to win the doubles set 8-2.

 

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Player of the Week

Ally Daniels     Norwich     Concord, N.H.     JR

Daniels led the team with 16 goals and eight assists in a 3-0 week for the Cadets ... had five
goals and two assists against Green Mountain College ... posted six goals and three
assists versus St. Joseph's (Maine) ... had five goals and three assists at Lasell.

Rookie of the Week

Lee Sutherland     Simmons College     Tuftonboro, NH     FR

Playing midfield, Lee had 7 goals and 2 assists in our 2 conference wins. She won
almost 75% of the draws she took for us and was essential to our successful week.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Amanda Weaver    Simmons College   Eaton, OH   JR

Amanda Weaver had 2 conference wins in a 2-0 week, 11 saves and 15 Goals
Against.
