Stone Wins Award from Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts
The state meeting was held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting and Symposium of the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association (EATA), which was held at the Boston Marriott Copley Place from January 9-12.
The Kassabian Award was established to honor those individuals who have "demonstrated dedicated service and outstanding contributions to the profession of athletic training within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts". Past winners include Dr. Lyle Micheli of Children's Hospital and Dr. Arthur Pappas of the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and past Medical Director of the Boston Red Sox.
Stone has held several offices in the ATOM organization, and was President from 1994-1996. He co-chaired several medical symposiums for the Association, and was the ATOM Athletic Trainer of the Year in 1992.
Stone is presently the Director of District One- New England for the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and was recently named as Co-Medical Director for the Bay State Games. He was named the GNAC Athletic Trainer of the Year for 2008.
