STANDISH, Maine – The first NCAA DIII Men's Soccer polls of the 2018 season have been released and Saint Joseph's College is getting plenty of respect on the national stage.

The Monks, 5-0 overall and 1-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play through September 11th, are ranked 15th and 17th in the and United Soccer Coaches national polls, respectively. Saint Joseph's is also ranked third in the New England Region, according to the first United Soccer Coaches regional polls.

All three rankings qualify as the highest the Monks have achieved in program history. St. Joe's capped the 2017 season ranked sixth in New England, 17th in the national poll, and 25th on the United Soccer Coaches national docket.

In the poll, the Monks garnered one first-place vote and 438 points overall. Ranked 25th in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, St. Joe's moves up eight slots after registering impressive regional victories over Gordon College, Endicott College, and Bowdoin College in the opening weeks of the 2018 campaign.

The Monks sit behind a pair of NESCAC powers, Tufts University and Amherst College, in the New England rankings with Connecticut College, WPI, Babson College, Williams College, Clark University, Brandeis University, and Roger Williams University rounding out the top 10 in the region.

In five games this fall, the Monks have outscored opponents by a collective 14-0 score while outshooting their foes by a 44-11 tally. Saint Joseph's, 19-0-2 last fall, has extended the program's undefeated streak record to 26 games with the 5-0 start to the 2018 season.

Saint Joseph's travels to Nashua, N.H. on Wednesday for a 7:00 PM conference contest at Rivier University.
