STANTON RECORDS 1,000TH CAREER KILL
BOSTON, MASS. - Senior middle hitter Rebecca Stanton (Quincy, Mass.) recorded her 1,000th career kill to help the Emmanuel College women's volleyball team down Albertus Magnus College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-17), Saturday afternoon at Regan Gymnasium on the campus of Suffolk University.

Emerson Lions Volleyball Makes A Statement With Huge Wins Over AnnaMaria and Rivier
BOSTON, Mass. – Megan Kaplon’s 22 kills combined with Brandi Eggerman’s 37 digs and a gritty defense made the difference Saturday as the Emerson Women’s Volleyball team opened up GNAC play with a 3-0 win over Anna Maria and a down-to-the-wire 3-2 win over Rivier. The Lions now roar into week four of the 2011 season with a 7-3 overall record and 2-0 GNAC record.

Suffolk University Athletics Names Noel Moran Head Volleyball Coach for 2011
The Suffolk University Athletic Department announced that Noel Moran will serve as Head Volleyball Coach for the 2011 season. Moran, who has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach takes over a program that has seen improvement in wins over the past two seasons.

JWU Women's Volleyball Headed To NYU For NCAA Championship
The women's volleyball team will be heading to New York University for the 2010 NCAA Division IIII Championship. The Wildcats, the No. 7 seed in the region, are 24-12 on the season and earned the automatic-bid after capturing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship. It is the fifth trip to the NCAA's for the program and the first since the 2002 season.

Mount Ida Women's Volleyball Headed to ECAC Tournament
The Mount Ida College women's volleyball team has been selected to participate in the 2010 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season tournament starting this Wednesday night at hosting #4 Colby-Sawyer College (19-14, 8-2 TCCC). The Mustangs, who come into the tournament as the fifth seed, will face the number four seed Chargers (Colby-Sawyer) in the first round with game time set for 7:00 p.m.

No. 1 JWU Wins GNAC Championship With 3-1 Win Over No. 2 Rivier
Senior Catherine Bravo (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship after leading the top-seeded women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win (17-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-20) against second seeded Rivier at the Harborside RAC on Saturday afternoon.

RAIDERS SWEEP LASELL IN GNAC QUARTER-FINALS
Nashua, NH- #2 Rivier College (22-10 overall; 11-1 GNAC) defeated #7 Lasell College in 3 straight sets to advance to the semi-finals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) playoffs. The Raiders tallied 13 ace serves in the 3 sets to take the Lasers out of system for most of the match. Senior Nicole Rodriguez scored a team high 5 ace serves to lead the Blue and White.

GNAC Women’s Volleyball Playoff Schedule Announced
Johnson & Wales secured first place with a conference record of 11-1 and an overall record of 21-13. The Wildcats pulled ahead of Rivier during the last week of the regular season in a 3-1 victory over the Raiders. Johnson & Wales suffered their only loss of the season to the 2009 GNAC Champion, Emerson College.

Emmanuel Volleyball Hosts 'Dig Pink'
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team sponsored a “Dig Pink” night at their game against neighboring Simmons College. “Dig Pink” was created by the Side-Out Foundation that donates the funds towards breast cancer research and finding practical solutions for those suffering from this dreaded disease.

Mount Ida Women's Volleyball Volunteers at Jimmy Fund Walk
The Mount Ida College womens volleyball team volunteered this past Sunday at the 2010 22nd Annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. More than 8,000 walkers participated in the Boston Marathon course to support the lifesaving mission of Dana-Farber.

Emerson Ranks #7 in NEWVA Division III Women's Volleyball Poll
The first New England Women's Volleyball Association poll of the 2010 season has been released and the Emerson College Lions are ranked seventh in the poll. Emerson, which sports a 7-1 overall record, has won tournaments at both Wheaton College and Western New England College. The Lions' lone setback has been at the hands of third ranked UMass Boston. The number seven ranking is the highest ever for the program.

Johnson & Wales Tops GNAC Pre-Season Volleyball Poll
Johnson and Wales University leads the 2010-2011 pre-season poll for womens volleyball based on the votes of GNAC coaches. The Wildcats will return this season with aspirations to return to the GNAC Finals after falling short of a title at the hands of Emerson College.
