NORTHFIELD, VT. – Fueled by a sparkling performance from sophomore midfielder Grace Fitzpatrick (Falmouth, Maine), Norwich University picked up its third consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament title with a 17-6 win over Lasell April 28.

Lasell Women’s Lacrosse Defeat Emerson Earning GNAC Title Game Appearance
Newton, Mass. – The Lasell College women’s lacrosse team defeated Emerson College 11-7 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference semifinals, setting up a rematch of last year’s championship game versus Norwich University. The victory was the fifteenth of the season for Lasell, who are 15-2 on the year, while Emerson slipped to 8-7 on the season.

2012 GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Playoff Schedule Announced
The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announces the Women’s Lacrosse playoff seedings and bracket. Norwich University takes the top seed in the GNAC. Lasell College comes in at the second seed, followed by Emerson College in the third seed, and Simmons College rounds out the top four with the fourth seed. Securing the fifth seed slot is Saint Joseph’s College (ME). The sixth seed goes to Mount Ida College. Seventh and eighth place seeds are secured by Rivier College and Emmanuel College respectively.

Lasell Women's Lacrosse Overpowers Emerson
Boston, MA – The Lasell College women’s lacrosse team scored the first 13 goals of the day, and coasted to a 20-5 victory over the Lions of Emerson College. The Lasers improved to 5-0 in the GNAC and 9-1 on the season, while the Lions fell to 3-2 in GNAC play and 3-3 overall.

NORTHFIELD, Vt. –Fueled by another strong offensive game from senior midfielder Kacey Abbriano (Hicksville, N.,Y.), Norwich University turned in a sparkling performance in its home opener March 21 with a 20-6 win over St. Joseph’s of Connecticut.

Lasell’s Slattery Reaches 100 Goal Mark in Women’s Lacrosse
Newton, MA – On Saturday March 10th, Lasell College junior Ashley Slattery became the fourth player in the history of the women’s lacrosse program to reach the 100 goal mark for her career. Slattery’s milestone goal came with 26:39 left in the second half, and was the third of her career-high eight goal performance.

The Norwich Cadets Take the Top Seed in the Women’s Lacrosse GNAC Preseason Poll
Norwich University is voted as the top seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll. The Cadets are the 2011 GNAC Champions, and look for a third straight win again this season.

Lasell Uses Comeback to Defeat Wellesley in Three Overtimes
Newton, MA – The Lasell College women’s lacrosse team defeated Wellesley College in a triple overtime thriller, 16-15 in the Lasers home opener. Ashley Slattery (Weymouth, MA) found the back of the net on a free position shot with 1:25 on the clock to give Lasell their first win of the season. The victory improved Lasell’s record to 1-1 on the year, while Wellesley fell to 0-3 with the loss.
