BOSTON, MA - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is pleased to announce that Danyelle Shufelt (Sutton, Vt./Lyndon Institute) has been chosen as the 2012-13 GNAC Woman of the Year. Shufelt, a four-year member of the Monks’ softball and basketball programs, graduated cum laude this past May as a Biology/Pre-Physician's Assistant major.
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2012-13 Women's Basketball All-Star Teams on Thursday afternoon. Emmanuel College's senior forward Fiona O'Dwyer (Stamford, Conn.) and Rivier University sophomore Deanna Purcell (Hudson, N.H.) were among the ten honorees from the New England region. Both received a nod on the All-ECAC Second team, as voted upon by the New England Women's Basketball Coaches.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – Emmanuel College's Head Women's Basketball Coach and Associate Director of Athletics, Andy Yosinoff, can add yet another prestigious honor to his resume. Yosinoff was recently inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame of his alma mater, the University of Rhode Island. A 1970 graduate of URI, Yosinoff was a standout on the Rams Men's Tennis Team, before his reign as the head coach of the perennially powerful Emmanuel Saints Women's Basketball Team.
