Carpenter Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
Rivier junior Blair Carpenter (Meredith, NH) has been named to
the 2009 ESPN the Magazien/CoSida Academic All-District Basketball
Team College Division Third Team.
This is the first national academic award for the Rivier College
athletic department. Blair was the college's first Academic
All-America nominee last season. Carpenter boasts a 3.806 GPA as an
Elementary/Special Education major.
She currently leads the teams with a 17 points per game average.
She is also pulling down 5.2 rebounds per outing from the shooting
guard position. Carpenter eclipsed the 1000 point plateau earlier
this season and has been named the Great Northeast Athletic
Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week.
The College Sports Information Directors of America selects
Academic All America teams in 12 programs: football, women’s
volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s
basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, softball,
men’s track & field/cross country, women’s track
& field/cross country, men’s at large and women’s
at large. A first team, second team and third team are selected in
both the University (Division I and I-AA) and College (Division II,
III and NAIA) Divisions.
