Three Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball
student-athletes earned recognition for their performance in the
classroom as well as the athletic field this spring. Emerson junior
outfielder Bridget Farago (Oneonta, NY), Suffolk sophomore
infielder Monica Cioffi (Easton Boston, MA), and St. Joe’s
(ME) sophomore infielder Alyssa Dunn (Standish, ME) were both named
to ESPN the Magazine’s Academic All-District teams by the
College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Farago was a first-team selection for District 1. She currently maintains a 3.37 cumulative grade point average as a Writing, Literature & Publishing major. The outfielder was named as a first team All-Conference selection by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as well as being named to the GNAC All-Tournament team for her strong play in helping Emerson claim the 2009 conference championship.
