BOSTON, Mass. -- The United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) has announced the hiring of Mount Ida College men's lacrosse head coach Andrew Fink as the new General Manager for the Boston Storm.

Coach Fink is in his 14th year as head coach of the Mount Ida College men's lacrosse team. He is a three time coach of the year and he and his staff have presented at LaxCon on seven different occasions. Andrew is also the Co-owner of his own business, and brings a wealth of knowledge in what it takes to be successful both on and off the field.

"I am honored to be named GM of the Boston Storm," said Fink, "I want to help the franchise grow to another professional leave and continue to compete for UWLX Championships."

"Andrew Fink is a great addition to the UWLX who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Boston Storm. His relationships with the local lacrosse community are invaluable in the continued growth of our league," stated UWLX CEO Digit Murphy. "We are excited to have someone with his passion, energy and drive to help lead the Storm in season two and beyond."

Fink's hiring means that the tandem of Mount Ida College lacrosse coaches will be involved with the UWLX this year. Women's lacrosse coach Nicole Poli was drafted this week by the Storm and will be a defender on the team after a standout Hall of Fame career at Western New England College.

The Boston Storm, runners-up in the inaugural season, look to grow on that and contend again for the league championship in year two. They have already made history this off-season by drafting Poli, the first woman's Division 3 women's lacrosse player in league history.

The Storm's new season will kick-off on Saturday May 27th with a matchup against the Philadelphia Force during the 2017 NCAA Final Four weekend.
