Lasers Welcome Its Newest 1,000 Point Member

By Nick Dubay

GNAC Correspondent, Lasell College

Brad Caravoulias went into the game on December 4th at Rivier College only two points shy of a 1,000 and what better way to break it then a three pointer to open the game.  Caravoulias is a senior captain from Dracut, MA and is one of the best three point shooters to ever hit Lasell.  Now he will be remembered for more then just his shooting.

To date, Caravoulias’s career numbers are impressive.  He has amassed 1,009 total points (8th person all-time to break 1,000 at Lasell), shooting a .427 career field goal percentage.  He has drilled 219 three pointers, shooting 39% from behind the arc and is 10th in all-time assists at Lasell, dishing out 134 assists.

Last year was by far his best season.  Caravoulias finished the year ranked 2nd in the GNAC and 38th nationally in NCAA Division III statistics for 3-point field goals made (85 total) and 3-point field goals per game (averaging 2.93), as well as being ranked 12th in the GNAC and 65th nationally for 3-point field goal percentage (.394).  Caravoulias’ career high came on December 9th, 2007 when he scored 28 points against Johnson State College, in a 106-82 victory.

Early this year Caravoulias has been a contributor in all of Lasell’s games.  He is averaging 14.5 points per game and is shooting over 50% from behind the three point line. His season high came on November 21st against Western Connecticut.  Caravoulias drained five three pointers on his was to 22 points. Clearly the extra foot back is not affecting him.
