Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Report - Week 7

Player of the Week
Brittany Casey (Point-Claire, Quebec), Senior, Forward, Norwich University
On the week Casey had nine points (four goals, one assist), having a hand in all five goals Norwich scored on the week as she netted a hat trick against Simmons and also tallied an assist on another goal to help lead NU with a furious second half comeback that fell just short. On Saturday, Casey scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season which tied her for the Norwich program all-time career goals record with Maureen Curran at 59 career goals. She also moved into second place on the program all-time points list with her nine-point week. She now has 142 career points, which is six shy of Curran's 148 points.

Rookie of the Week
Teresa Ryan (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Freshman, Midfielder, Anna Maria College
Ryan had two goals and three assists for the AMCATS who split a pair of games last week. In only their second win of the season Ryan led Anna Maria to a 9-1 victory over Pine Manor College, the first year player had a goal and dished out 3 key assists on the day. In a 6-1 loss to visiting Emerson College, Ryan scored a first half goal to make the game just 2-1 at halftime.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.), Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Suffolk University
Brouillette posted a shutout against the University of Saint Joseph (CT), snapping the Blue Jays 13-match unbeaten streak with a five-save outing.
