STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph's College baseball team, 16-2 overall and 4-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play so far this spring, has earned high rankings in several polls this week.

According to the third New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Poll of the season, the Monks are the top team in New England. St. Joe's, ranked second in last week's poll, received three first-place votes and 36 points overall in the regional ranking, just ahead of Wheaton College (34 points) and Eastern Connecticut (33).

St. Joe's also continues to move up in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball NCAA DIII rankings, as the Royal Blue received 96 points and sits in the #18 spot in the April 3rd national poll. The Monks were ranked 27th two weeks ago and jumped up to 24th last week.

Once again the Monks are listed on the "Also receiving votes" list in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA rankings, a national poll that lists the top 25 teams in the country on a weekly basis. St. Joe's just missed the #25 spot, held by Neumann (70 points), with 68 points.

Saint Joseph's will host in-state rival University of Southern Maine on Wednesday in a single nine-inning game scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
