NEWTON, MA- On Sunday, September 25th, the Lasell College women’s cross country team donated their time and support to the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Hopewalks event to benefit the Vernon Cancer Center.
Proceeds raised by HopeWalks benefit the Integrative Support
Services offered by Vernon Cancer Center to provide life-enhancing
patient services such as Patient Navigators, nutritional support,
genetic counseling, social/psychological services, therapeutic
mind-body programs, and educational/support workshops.
The Laser women manned a water station at the one mile mark of
the 3.5 mile walk through the Newton neighborhood while handing out
cheers and enthusiasm, in addition to the hydration, to the over
1,000 walkers, and 75 teams that made up the event.
All told, the Newton-Wellesley HopeWalks raised more than $220,000 for the Vernon Cancer Center on Sunday.
