Emerson’s Lacey Russell began her collegiate career ranked number one by remaining undefeated from every match she’s played. A notable win was when Russell defeated an opponent from Wentworth in straight sets 6-0. 6-0 in just 29 minutes. She continued to to lead Emerson 7-2 over Suffolk’s number one ranked player in straight sets. Russell is also teamed with fellow freshman and rookie standout Savannah Mosser in doubles.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Savannah Mosser from Malibu, California began her collegiate career with a near perfect showing against a Wentworth opponent winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Mosser then defeated Suffolk’s number two player (6-2, 6-3) who was a 2009 GNAC All-Conference selection. Mosser has began a successful doubles career with Lacey Russell by winning both of their matches as the number one doubles team and went 8-1 against the Suffolk pair of 2009’s All-GNAC selections from Suffolk University.
