SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Virginia Bette, Simmons, Sr., Southbury, CT
Simmons’ Virginia Bette placed 1st in all but one event throughout the week. In the Sharks meet versus Plymouth State, Bette swam on both winning relays and finished first in the 500 Free with a season's best swim. She followed that by a close second in the 50 back, less than a 1/2 second behind the winner. Virginia also performed well in Thursday's meet against Regis, where she won both the 50 Back and the 100 Free and led both the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays to first place finishes.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Shannon Dunn, St. Joseph CT, Fr., Litchfield, CT
Shannon Dunn, St. Joseph CT rookie swimmer, led the Blue Jays in two critical victories last week. Dunn had two individual wins and two more on both relays as Saint Joseph College swept Elms and Husson in a double-dual meet. The freshman from Litchfield, CT was the overall winner of both the 50-yard backstroke (31.45) and 50 butterfly (30.39).
