GNAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors: May 2, 2011

Dan Harrington (Mount Ida), Dylan Fernandes (Lasell) and Eric Walsh (Lasell) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dan Harrington, Mount Ida,

Mount Ida’s attacker, Dan Harrington earned tournament MVP honors as he led the Mustangs to the inaugural GNAC championship.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Dylan Fernandes, Lasell, Fr., Billerica, MA

Lasell’s Dylan Fernandes had an outstanding GNAC semi-final game against Norwich, scoring six points, on five goals and one assists, which led Lasell to their first ever conference post-season win. Fernandes was named to the All-Tournament team in the GNAC finals.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Eric Walsh, Lasell, Sr., Weymouth, MA

Lasell’s senior goalkeeper, Eric Walsh, made 16 saves against Norwich in the GNAC semi-finals on Thursday, earning the first post-season conference win ever for Lasell College. He then made 10 stops against Mount Ida in the Championship game, a first-time appearance in their league title game. Walsh was named to the GNAC All-Tournament team for his efforts.
