GNAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: February 21, 2011

Tom Poitras (Rivier) and Javon Williams (Lasell) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lasell’s Javon Williams had an outstanding week, averaging 31.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.0 block, and 1.3 steals per game over the course of a three game week. The junior was the high scorer in all three contests for the Lasers, shooting 60% from the floor and 40% from the arc. He recorded two double-doubles in conference play, scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds against Mount Ida; 35 points and 13 rebounds against Suffolk, and concluding the week with 29 points and 9 rebounds against Rivier. This marks the second time this season that Williams has earned GNAC Player of the Week.

Rivier’s Tom Poitras did not disappoint this week as he led the Raiders offense with 15.5 points per game and the defense with 10.0 rebounds per game. This marks the second time this season that Poitras has earned Rookie of the Week.
