Lasers Participate in 2010 Heart Walk to Defeat Cardiovascular Diseases
Boston, MAOn Saturday, September 11th, 2010, the Lasell College womens volleyball team took part in the 2010 Heart Walk, put on by the American Heart Association at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River in Boston. The American Heart Association is the largest health organization working to prevent, treat, and defeat the nations number one killer, heart disease.

Boston, MA—On Saturday, September 11th, 2010,
the Lasell College women’s volleyball team took part in the
2010 Heart Walk, put on by the American Heart Association at the
DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River in Boston. The American
Heart Association is the largest health organization working to
prevent, treat, and defeat the nation’s number one killer,
heart disease.
The Lasers walked six miles in support of the cure on the
Brigham Women’s Heart Steppers Team, alongside head coach
Mary Tom whom works for Brigham Women’s Physicians
Organization. The squad raised over $200 to help combat
cardiovascular diseases which claim more than 865,000 American
lives a year.
All together, the Heart Walk has raised 1.4 million dollars
and is still accepting donations on their way to their goal of 2.5
million. Jarod, the spokesperson for Subway Corporation, was
on hand to promote healthy eating.
