GNAC Cross-Country Weekly Honors: Sept. 6th

Abdi Ibrahim (Emmanuel), David Kananowitz (Lasell), Joslyn DelSignore (Emmanuel), and Alison Lynch (Emmanuel) have earned GNAC Cross-Country Weekly Honors.

MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Abdi Ibrahim, Emmanuel, Jr., E.Boston, MA

Junior rookie transfer, Abdi Ibrahim, won Emmanuel’s dual meet with Emerson, smashing the course record in the process. Ibrahim lead the pack from the start and tore through the course record to take first place with an incredible time of 16:21.20 in the 5k race.

MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

David Kananowitz, Lasell, Fr., North Monmouth, ME

Rookie David Kananowitz finished 14th overall in his first collegiate race, the 2010 President's Cup, running a 21:17, which helped Lasell to a second place finish in the meet.

WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Joslyn DelSignore, Emmanuel, So., Taunton, MA

Sophomore DelSignore placed 1^st for Emmanuel and 2^nd overall in the Saints opening tri-meet versus neighboring Wheelock and Emerson. She held a lead throughout the race but was edged at the finish line. However, DelSignore earned a personal best record time of 13:14.02, which cut nearly two minutes off her 2-mile time at the same meet last season.

WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF WEEK

Alison Lynch, Emmanuel, Sr., Pawtucket, RI

The rookie senior, Allison Lynch, helped Emmanuel win its opening tri-meet with Emerson and Wheelock. Lynch placed 3rd overall and 2nd for the Saints with a personal best time of 13:39 for the 2-mile course.
