GNAC Rookies of the Week

Olivia DiNucci (Women's Basketball, Emerson College), Tessa Dudunake (Women's Swimming, Elms College), Brett Heimann (Men's Basketball, Lasell College), and Spencer Parker (Men's Volleyball, Lasell College) have been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookies of the Week for January 25, 2010.
Men's Basketball- Brett Heimann, Lasell College, Freshman, Miami, Fla.
The freshman guard, Brett Heimann, led the Lasers to a 2-0 GNAC record this week. He recorded 15 points, four assists, and three steals against GNAC rival Emmanuel College. Throughout the week, Heimann averaged six points, three rebounds, and two assists per game over the course of a 2-1 week for the Lasers.
Women's Basketball-Olivia DiNucci, Emerson College, Freshman, Pittsburgh, Penn.
Olivia DiNucci was the driving force behind the Lions two wins this week. Emerson's freshman led the team in scoring with 19 points against UMass Boston, and tallied another 18 points against Lasell College in the conference victory. DiNucci shot 48% from the field, 42% from three-point range, and was stellar on four free throws.
Men's Volleyball- Spencer Parker, Lasell College, Freshman, Newington, Conn.
Spencer Parker dominated and received a team best of 13 kills and added three blocks in a match against Medaille College. In his collegiate debut, Parker averaged 3.0 kills and .43 blocks per set, which contributed to the Lasers 1-1 record for the week. The six-foot-five-inch outside hitter also put down eight kills in a 3-0 win over Wentworth. Currently, the freshman is leading the team in total kills with 21 in two matches.
Women's Swimming- Tessa Dudunake, Elms College, Freshman, Northampton, Mass.
Dudunake was the top swimmer for the Blazers against Western New England College on Jan. 19, winning all three of her events. She also captured a pair of victories against Gordon College and GNAC competitor Norwich University. By finishing second in her final event, Dudunake lifted Elms to a sweep of the Fighting Scots and Cadets on Jan. 23.
