Emmanuel Women's Basketball Tabbed Preseason Favorite

Emmanuel earned the top spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Preseason Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll, the conference office announced on Thursday. The Saints captured the 2008-09 GNAC championship after posting a 22-8 overall record and 11-1 GNAC record. The championship marked the 13th GNAC championship title in the program’s history.

Emmanuel earned the top spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Preseason Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll, the conference office announced on Thursday. The Saints captured the 2008-09 GNAC championship after posting a 22-8 overall record and 11-1 GNAC record. The championship marked the 13th GNAC championship title in the program’s history.

Emerson was second behind Emmanuel with 51 points, followed by Norwich, Johnson & Wales and Simmons to round out the top five. Rivier was ranked sixth, while Saint Joseph’s (Maine) and Suffolk filled the final two spots.
