GNAC Baseball Weekly Honors: April 25, 2011

Todd Keneborus (St. Joseph’s), Alex Lorenc (St. Joseph’s) and Nick Marine (JWU) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Baseball Weekly Honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Todd Keneborus, Saint Joseph's (ME), Sr., Hollis Center, ME

The Monks’ senior right fielder, Todd  Keneborus, hit a scorching .636 (14-22) with seven runs, nine RBI, a 1.046 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage in a 5-1 week for Saint Joseph’s. He went 6-8 with two runs, three RBI and a triple in a sweep over Emerson on Monday and was 2-4 with a double, home run and two RBI in a 12-inning loss to Southern Maine on Wednesday. Keneborus went 4-4 with three runs, three RBI and a home run in a win over Anna Maria on Friday. This marks the second time this season  he has earned GNAC Player of the Week honors.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Alex Lorenc, Saint Joseph's (ME), Fr, Nanuet, NY

St. Joseph’s rookie, Alex Lorenc, hit .400 (8-20) with four runs, three doubles and eight RBI in a 5-1 week for the Monks. He drove in two runs in critical conference wins over Emerson and Norwich and was 3-4 with a run and three RBI in a victory over Daniel Webster on Friday. This marks the second time this season that Lorenc has earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Nick Marine, Johnson & Wales, Sr., Bristol, RI

Johnson & Wales’ senior pitcher, Nick Marine, threw a complete-game shutout in the Wildcats 5-0 victory over conference foe, Albertus Magnus. Marine only allowed up three hits and added six strikeouts with a 0.00 ERA in the crucial conference win.
